Company Profile

Bell Designs is a broad based architectural practice, working within West Wales for over 25 years.

We have been based in St Mary Street, Cardigan, since 1993, which is ideally located for works within the three counties of Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthernshire.

Our Cardigan office comprises of five members of staff, Roger Bell the owner and principal designer, three technicians and an office administrator.

Our services include all necessary aspects of architectural work, including initial consultations with our clients, forming concept sketches and the completion of full design drawings for planning and building control. Our services also include costings, obtaining tenders from contractors, and full supervision of works including certification. All work is undertaken using Autocad computer drawing software.

Due to the diverse nature of West Wales, our design services include new build, residential estates, barn conversions, commercial properties, hotels and public houses. Our designs are sympathetic to the area in which they are built, and take into account the historic nature of the area.

Conservation work to a value of three million pounds has been carried out on Skomer Island, which received an award from the RICS for sustainability in 2008.

We are environmentally aware and our designs incorporate and reflect all the latest sustainable and environmental requirements.

We will undertake all communication with local authorities and other bodies during your project. These include meetings with the planning office, the Environment Agency and structural engineers.

The planning authority may require a flood consequence assessment (FCA), tree surveys and a full environmental survey on Greenfield sites. These can all be arranged through our offices. All applications now require a Design and Access statement. This again is done as part of our service at Bell Designs.
